Born in Barcelona (1954).
Artistic Director of Málaga's Museo Picasso. He has been Director of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, CAAC. Between 1998 and 2005 he was an Advisory Member of the technical acquisitions committee of the Frac Rhône Alpes in Lyon, France. From 1996 to 2002 he was Head of the Exhibitions Department at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, MACBA. He has a degree in Information Science from the Universidad Autónoma in Bellaterra, Barcelona. Master in Design and Digital Multimedia Production from Universidad La Salle-Ramón Llull, Barcelona. He studied Art History and Political Science at Cologne University in Germany. He has undertaken extensive academic work connected with artistic output.
A regular contributor to newspapers and publications specialising in contemporary art in Spain and abroad, such as Lápiz, Flash Art, Parkett and Figura. He has worked with institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía de Madrid, MNCARS, in Madrid; the Fundación Miró in Barcelona, the Künst Palast in Düsseldorf, Germany; the Folkwang Museum in Essen, Germany, the Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan.
His work as an exhibition curator includes such major solo exhibitions as those featuring: Mike Kelley, Luis Gordillo, Gerhard Richter, Gary Hill, Txomin Badiola and Pep Agut; along with the collective shows Toponimias (Toponimies), Antagonismos (Antagonisms) and Cámaras Indiscretas (Hidden Cameras). At the CAAC he has presented exhibitions such as Bill Viola, Daido Moriyama, José Guadalupe Posada and Equipo 57.
