Dynamic (in) position. Ars Electrónica
Ars Electronica, the prestigious festival of electronic art and new media, has prepared a collaboration with one of the oldest cultural events of the Mexican capital, the Mexico-fmx Festival, aiming to advertise and promote the most innovative technological creations. This collaboration has resulted in the project Dynamic (in) position, curated by the renowned specialists on art linked to new media Gerfried Stocker, director of Ars Electronica in Linz and artistic coordinator of the festival with the same name; Karla Jasso, professor of History of Art at the Universidad Iberoamericana of Mexico; and Manuela Pfaffenberger, also working for Ars Electronica.

The objective of Dynamic (in) position is creating a dialogue between the artistic proposals that turn information about information into something tangible and concrete, in order to reflect on the way in which the latest technologies are used by contemporary society and the degree of their impact on its development. Therefore, the organisers have invited the Spanish artist and architect Pablo Valbuena (Madrid, 1978) to display his work on the façade of the recently inaugurated MUAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad Autónoma of Mexico. This projection of abstract shapes playing with the architectural elements of the museum conceived by Teodoro González de León is part of Augmented Spaces, a broader project of Valbuena that constitutes a research on how spatial and temporary perceptions of architecture can be altered by imposing the positioning of new information layers on them.
